Braxton Baptisim

We were so excited that Braxton was ready to get Baptized!   We were planning on doing it here in Las Vegas but then about a week before our trip to Utah we decided it would be fun to try to do it there since we were going there anyway and a lot more family would be able to make it.
These were the invitations we sent out we had to add the piece of paper because we had the Las Vegas information on there we already printed them when we changed everything around.
Braxton has been so excited about his baptism day he has been talking about it for awhile now!  It was so fun to be able to see Kevin Baptize him!  Braxton did a great job and listened very attentively. The nice thing about us going to Utah was that we were able to make the baptism all about Braxton!  We were able to have our family speak and they made the talks perfect for the kids!
Lindy talked on Baptism and had some great object lesson with an egg.  Brian talked on the Holy ghost where he too had some object lessons.  Which really stuck with Braxton he still remembers what the object lesson meant.  My Grandpa Thomas and Kirk shared their testimonies which was neat to hear.  While Braxton was getting changed we had index cards where people could write him a little note everyone like it even the little kids drew him a picture if they could not write.
We held a lunch right after at the church we had a lot of friends and family there we felt very loved and supportive!  I think we had about 45 people there including kids.
We were so grateful for everyone that came it was so fun to see everyone.
After the Baptism I had my dad take some pictures of our family!  We are so proud of Braxton and the great choices he is making.  Braxton loves the Gospel and is very knowledgeable about the church especially for a 8 year old.  He is always very curious and asks us a lot of questions I have been very surprised by some of the gospel discussions were have been able to have.  He is a great example to his brother and his parents!  Braxton we love you!

Braxton 8th Birthday Party!!

Nerf Party

Braxton originally wanted us to do laser tag for his birthday but I told him he could only invite 8 friends so then he changed his mind.  We decided a Nerf party would be a lot of fun and it was.  He loved it and it was pretty easy to put together!   We had 14 little boys running around shooting each other what could be better then that?
These were the invitations we sent out and I loved how they turned out!  I was just going to do Braxton and Corbin in the pictures then Dylan came over and wanted to be included so the boys told him to put his hands up and he did I just love his expression on his face so fun!
There are no Nerf cakes at the store so unless I wanted to spend a lot of money on a cake I decided to do it myself.  This was the first time I did fondant and it was actually a lot easier then I thought and the cake turned out pretty good.  I don't really like frosting so I was not a big fan of eating the fondant but it is easy to take off the cake.
We had the boys split up into teams and they received safety glasses and plenty of bullets.  We had some extra Nerf guns for people to use but most people brought their own.
We decided the boys needed plenty of room to run around and be wild so we used the gym at the church and it worked out great.  We used the tables as things to hide behind and then we did different games like capture the flag, zombie tag, and a  lights out version (we had glow sticks for that).  The kids had a blast and they were all worn out and sweaty after that.
The blue team consisted of: Corbin, Jack Blackwell, Jacob Childs, Braxton, Sean Elsworth, Ty Kuwata, and Heath Rawlings.
The Yellow team consisted of Chris, Sam, David, Jack,  Luke and Andrew Adams, and Ben Childs.
Braxton was spoiled with Lego sets, Pokemon cards, Nerf guns and some other toys.  He had a great time and we were grateful to everyone who came.!

Visit from Kirk and Lindy

Shortly after our beach trip Kirk and Lindy made a trip to Vegas to visit us.  There is a big benefit about Kevin being a Dentist.  If family wants any work done they have to come visit us to get it done!  That was the main reason they came down to visit this time so it was a short trip but we loved having them out so we made the most of it.  We took a drive up to Mt. Charleston which is only about 40 min from our house.  It was really nice, it was our first time up there I was surprised how much cooler it was then in the valley.

We made it a day trip and stayed up there and cooked dinner and enjoyed a campfire the boys loved it!    There was a dry river bed that had a ton of rocks in it and the boys had a blast throwing the rocks and trying to break them.

Beach Trip

We decided to drive to California for a long weekend Beach trip.  We stayed in a city called Cardiff by the Sea.  There was a really nice beach there in Encinitas it was close to the parking lot they had a nice close bathrooms and access to food.  The upper part of the beach was really nice they had sand that was brought in with picnic tables, fire-pits, volleyball and a playground.  It was really convenient and nice for people with kiddos
My parents were able to come and it was great spending time with them.  Corbin and Dylan loved playing in the sand the first day they spent hours playing in a big hole and the second day they had a blast playing in this little stream!  My mom was not very interested in playing in the ocean so she played with kids on the beach which I was grateful for because then I could play in the ocean.
I love playing in the Ocean and body boarding.  I wish I knew how to surf but since I don't that is a lot of fun.  I convinced Kevin that now that we live closer we should by wet suits.  I was so excited that we did it made it easy to play in the ocean for hours I hate being cold!!
This was the first time Braxton tried Body boarding and he was so fun to watch and he had a blast.  We rented him a wet suit and he was happy he played in the water I think for 3 hrs straight.  On the second day I was pointing some wave out to him he could try and get and he told me, "Mom those are beginner waves I can get bigger ones then that!"  Apparently after one day he was an expert.  It was to bad though just before we went to leave we all go out of the ocean and Brax said he wanted to stay in to catch one more big one so my dad watched him from the beach while we were cleaning up.  He said brax going out farther then he normally does so Kevin started walking out there but Braxton had asked a guy next to him if he could help pull him in where he could touch.  The life guard had seen him from the tower and also went to help I guess he got stuck in a little tide that was carrying him out.  I have never seen a life guard as attentive and active as this guy we were in good hands.  Brax was not out that far but it just scared him because he could not touch but I think now he knows to come in with the rest of us.   Luckily he had a lot of fun so he still wants to go again.

Mothers Day!

For Mothers Day this year we thought we would make the announcement to our parents with a fun Mothers Day Card.  These are the fun pictures we used to tell them we are expecting another baby on 12/08/2014.  We are all pretty excited about the new addition but it does make me nervous to have Dylan and the new baby so close in age!  I did not think that I would get pregnant so soon but I guess the timing will work out how it is supposed to!
The boys spoiled me for Mothers Day I got a new Dyson Vacuum that I wanted.  Then the boys  gave me fun cards and projects they had made at school.  My favorite present is the fact that I get out of doing all my motherly duties for mothers day and Kevin takes care of everything.  I get to do what ever I want to do and it is so nice!!
I love all these cute boys in my life!  They may keep me busy but they are all so cute and fun!

Thanks boys for a great Mothers Day!

Bryce Canyon Trip

We went to Bryce Canyon for Spring Break this year.  I have not been there for a long time if I ever have been there I don't really remember.  But it was beautiful and we had a great time with Kirk and Lindy.  I love when we can meet up with them and go on a trip the kiddos love it too.    We stayed at Ruby's Inn it was really nice, the kids loved it because it had a pool they could play in.
We went on a hike down into the canyon and it was beautiful!  It is a different view from below then it is looking down at the canyon.   Braxton loved it he really enjoys hiking I wish I had as much energy that kid!  He is so happy in all these pictures loving the hike.
Corbin on the other hand likes hiking for a while but then gets tired so Grandma and him enjoyed sitting and throwing rocks as we hiked a little more!
We rented two rangers for the day the kids enjoyed it a lot more then I thought we ended up riding for about 5 hours and they were really good the whole time.  We went to a older couple house were they run a rock shop out of it the boys we excited to go pick out some rocks.  Then the owner took us out to see some Indian Pictographs that are on his property we had our own personal guide it was pretty neat!  Then we went on a trail up a mountain it was  lot of fun until we had  a hard time finding our way down!  The guys were convinced that it would loop around we were convinced we needed to turn back around.  Finally we did by the time we all got back we were all very tired.  But it was still a lot of fun and we all loved it.

More of the hike we loved it all!  Thanks Kirk and Lindy for coming on the trip with us!

Random cute pictures!

The problem with taking a lot more pictures on your phone is that you don't clean it out as often as you do your camera,  well at least I don't.   I just cleaned out Kevin phone and I found some cute photos I could not pass up!  I have no Idea where some of these are taken at but they are cute!
I love the one of Corbin in his shorts and rain boots!  This was still in Oregon so that is a perfectly acceptable look out there!

Who could resist this cute little cheeser he pulls so many cute faces you just have to take a picture!
The boys really like going to the Childrens Museum that is out here it is a fun place to go but I have not taken them that often I need to take them more!  But Corbin love the pirate ship and Dylan loves the water!

Bounce Back to Lego Land

When we went to Lego Land in November they gave us free bounce back tickets so of course we had to use them.  The expired at the end of March I think we went the 3rd weekend but at least we made it back!  It was a really quick trip we drove down on Friday and then back on Sunday so we did not have a lot of time but it was a lot of fun.
We stopped to check out the ocean but it was kinda cold so we did not get to play in it to long.  Dylan was kinda scared of it and did not want to be put down so we just hung out for a while and watched the brothers run in the waves.
Saturday we went to Lego Land and it was great because it was not to busy and we got to do everything we did not do the first time.  The boys only wanted to go on their favorite rides and not make us wait in line for lines they just kinda liked.  We explored a lot of the other activities they have there instead of rides and the boys loved it!
We had the boys play at the lego  playground for a while so Dylan would get a chance to do something too and he loved it!
They had the exact set from the basement scene on the Lego Movie there and the boys loved it.  It is amazing how much detail goes into these things.  The things they are able to build out of Lego's is amazing.
Of course we had to walk through the mini Lego Las Vegas I can't believe someone builds all this stuff its crazy!!  We had a great time and the kids loved it.

My Birthday!

For my Birthday this year I really wanted to go country dancing.  I don't get to go dancing very much so I was really excited to go!  We celebrated a bit with these wild little guys and had a yummy ice cream cake.  Then we got a sitter for them and we went out with some friends dancing.
We were not very good and they have a lot of new country dances that we did not know at all but we still had a good time and luckily they have free lessons if you go early.  We went to Stoney's and the crowd overall was not to wild which was nice but when we were leaving around 10:00  it started to get a little more wild.  So if you ever want to go its ok just go early.  Luckily I have a great husband who will put up with me wanting to go out dancing every now and again.

Utah Trip over Christmas

We love being able to go out to Utah for Christmas and see all the family!  This year was no different the boys loved playing in the snow.  Dylan kinda looks like the kid off a Christmas story when he can't put his arms down.  But he had a lot of fun being pulled behind the 4 wheeler.  Corbin loved it the most I think he grandpa pull him all over!  I have say this year I was really slacking on using the camera! Oops!
We did not fail in keeping up with family traditions though. We rode Trax down to temple square with Josh his kids, My parents and some of Josh's friends.  The kids loved the train but I think they loved playing with their cousins the most.
I have to admit the lights were bit of a let down this year.   There were not nearly as many as there were in years past.  But the temple is always beautiful and the were were in good company so it was worth it.  We stopped and got hot chocolate.  That's always yummy on a cold night!
Dylan loved playing with these necklaces when we were at grandma I think he found them a multiple times and kept putting them on.  The funny things is Kevin has picture very similar to this at about the same age covered in necklaces.
The boys love when we go to the fish farm because it is so easy to catch fish.  We also went out to the McFarlands pumpkin farm the boys loved picking any pumpkins and gourds they wanted.
I think one of the favorite things the boys did was go to Smith and Edwards with Grandpa and Dad.  The boys thought it was so neat to hold the bazooka and the grenades.  Look how cute the boys are in those hats.
Also while we were out there Kevin and I got away for night so we could celebrated the big 10 year anniversary!!  I always told Kevin I wanted to go to Europe on our 10 year but we were trying to save money for a house so I guess that is more important.  Kevin don't think you get out of taking me to Europe.   We still had a really good time it is great to just be able to go hang out with the hubby with no kids around.  We did a repeat of our first Anniversary.  We went to the Anniversary Inn and had plans to go to the melting pot unfortunately I was recovering from Christmas.  Christmas Eve I got really sick and was puking  not a fun Christmas.  That is way there are a lack of Christmas pictures I did not take them so we don't really have any I think Lindy has some I will have to look into getting them from her!  Anyway I did not want to go spend $100 on dinner when I did not really fell like eating.    But we went shopping saw a movie and we did go eat somewhere else that I don't really remember now.  He even booked a couples massage for us. We had a good time the best part was that we got a break from the kiddos.   Kevin also bought me a really pretty ring for our 10 year I am spoiled girl!  It has been a great 10 years with an amazing man and I am looking forward to many more!   I love you Kevin!

Christmas Time

We had a Christmas party for Kevin and his staff.  It was a lot of fun to get together with them for dinner we had it cater in and Kathy was kind enough to host us all.  It makes it nice to get to know the people that work with Kevin.  We also had some drawings and prizes and it made it fun. We are grateful that he has such a nice and helpful staff.
We also had an early Christmas for the boys before we went to Utah.  There big obsession right now is Lego the boys love them.  That was all they wanted for Christmas their other big Christmas present was a trampoline.   We really wanted to get the boys something that will get them outside to play.
Corbin and his Lego's!!  You can tell he does not like the Legos at all!  They are so excited about all the fun things that Santa brought them for Christmas!
Dylan was pretty cute opening his presents he is still just getting into it but he had a lot of fun!  He is such a happy little guy we love him so much!  He was pretty excited about his presents. We are grateful that we had such a great year and that we were able to provide a fun Christmas for the boys!!
