ALLIGATOR SNAPPING TURTLE

Braxton and I were on our way to our neighborhood park when I look down and see this little turtle on the side of the road. I was looking at and I thought man that is a weird looking turtle I have never seen a turtle with a long tail. So I called Braxton over to show him and he was so excited he wanted to take him home. I decided that would be okay, so we took the turtle home and made him a little house. Then I googled what kind of turtle has a spiky shell and a long tail. Then I find out it is a ALLIGATOR SNAPPING TURTLE! Then I go on read about how aggressive these turtles are and how they can take a finger off once they get bigger. However they are docile when they are babies which this one was luckily. These turtle can triple in size in three months. Ya we are defiantly not keeping that little guy around. I did let Braxton keep it until dad got home so he could show him. Then I had Kevin go release it back to the wild but I wanted him to take it to a pond farther away but he put it back in the neighborhood pond so beware in a few months there may be some Alligator snapping turtles trying to take off peoples fingers! It was pretty funny when they let the turtle go it swam off then came right back to were Braxton was telling him goodbye then poked its little head out and just stared at him for a while then swam away it was pretty cute!
Braxton wants a pet so bad but I really don't want to take care of anything I don't know what to get him! Now he keeps asking "mom can I have a nice turtle that won't bite me?"
Braxton liked to refer to him as the "crocodile snapping turtle"
This turtle looks prehistoric, I think it said they can live up to 150 years!
It was really fast too when we were trying to take this picture he was about running off the counter top! I was not expecting that from a turtle!

CINCO DE MAYO

Our good friends the Richards decided to have a Cinco De Mayo party. It was great, we tried to really get into it with our clothes, food & games. We had some really good tacos, chips & salsa, & margaritas (virgin of course). We had a really fun game of limbo, I have not played that game in forever it was great time thanks for having us guys!
Lets just say limbo is not Kevins game he was the first one out!
Candice was the limbo queen she won it all!
I came in third place which was pretty good for me!
Here are some of the stylish mustaches the boys grew! I thought they were pretty sexy I was trying to get Kevin to keep it around for a while! j/k!
We all were supposed to wear the colors of the Mexican flag!
Geese these boys are hot!
The whole group!
Braxton did not want to be left out of the Mustache club!

SOCCER

Braxton has started to play soccer. He seems to like it for about half of the game anyway. The games are so funny to watch, his team consists of mostly 3 yrs olds so it is interesting. He plays in a 3-4yr old league at the YMCA. Their first game they played a team of mostly 4 yr old. They were a whole head taller and actually new what they were doing so lets just say it was not much of a game. Our team is starting to learn it a bit better the second game they had a bit more contact with the ball. But about half way through the game the boys attention span is dwindling and it is a challenge to keep everyone in the game!
Apparently this is the best part the snacks!
Braxton wandering the field, this is about half way through the game and he is a little tired! He is done paying attention to the game!
Corbin supporting his big bro!
Go Grey Thunder!

This was during a practice.
Team wall waiting for the ball to be thrown in.
I don't think they realize that they are not supposed to pull and push their own team members. Maybe these boys would do a little better with football!
At Braxton's last game it was his turn to throw in the soccer ball, but apparently he had enough of kicking the ball so he decided to run to the goal while holding the ball and throw it in the goal instead of kicking it. It was so funny, we were all pretty surprised we just laughed! It is so fun to watch them play I am sure this the first of the many sports he will play.
