With each of my boys I was induced my body just does not really want to go into labor on its own. I was having a lot more contractions this time and I thought maybe I would start but that did not happen. So at 39 weeks my doctor was willing to induce me and I thought YES. I was getting so uncomfortable and my belly felt huge! Kirk and Lindy also arrived in town to on 11/16/12 so it was perfect. I was grateful for the help!
39 weeks pregnant getting ready to go to the hospital Saturday morning 11/17/12 @ 8:00
My boys were so excited to get the baby out!
We got to the hospital around 8:30 and they got all the paper work started and all the other stuff they do. Then at 10:00 Dr. Amiee Lee arrived to break my water, she wanted to do that first and see if I would have contractions on my own before was started on the pitocin. Well I was having some contractions on my own but they were not regular so we started on the pitocin at 12:30 I also asked for my epidural at this time because that stuff can hurt. There were no complications with my epidural it all worked well I love modern medicine that can take away your pain!

I was dilated to a 10 around 4:00 and we were ready to push. I was expecting it to be really easy like the other boys and I would push him out in about 2 contractions, not the case. This little guy wanted to make things complicated and his face was up (sunny side up) so he was a lot harder to get out. Once we finally got the head out his shoulder were stuck he had a little shoulder dystocia. All the sudden the nurse is pushing on my belly to help get the shoulders out I was so glad his collarbone did not break! Then his hips even got stuck a little but he was finally out! I had to push for about 30 mins before he was finally out, it felt like a long time and I was exhausted after.
Dylan Thomas Baldwin
9lbs and 3oz, 21 inches long
I was shocked when they told me how big he was! No wonder he was so hard to get out he was huge for me. My other boys were 7.14 so I never really thought I would have a 9 pounder! Luckily he was healthy and we had no complications.
Baby Dylan brand new in the world.
We are excited to have our new addition!
